On Wednesday, the 26th of June, in front of the Kyiv City State Administration building on Khreshchatyk street, the exhibition “United by the Flag – #LIBERATECRIMEA” was held, dedicated to the history of the Crimean Tatar flag and a journey of a majestic 3,5×4 meter blue banner with Taraq Tamga around 28 countries of the world. The exhibition includes 24 information stands with photographs, and will be held until the 24th of July.
Exhibition organizers are the following: Crimean Tatar Resource Center, National Memorial Complex of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, International Civic Society for the de-occupation of Crimea and Solidarity with the Crimean Tatar People #LIBERATECRIMEA. A great deal of assistance was also provided by the Representative Office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Ukraine.
LIBERATECRIMEA is an international civil movement for the de-occupation of Crimea and solidarity with the Crimean Tatar people. Its main purpose is strengthening the voice of civic society, calling for the cessation of the illegal occupation of Crimea, an outrageous violation of international law and the root cause of a widespread series of human rights violations committed in Crimea since February 2014. In October 2018, activists of the movement launched the campaign “United by the Flag – #LIBERATECRIMEA”, within which the national flag of the Crimean Tatar People also known as Taraq Tamga spent 9 months travelling around the world and visited 28 countries – Australia, USA, Canada, Malaysia, Ireland , Great Britain, Portugal, Spain, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel and Turkey.
