The Cassation Court of the Russian Federation upheld the sentence of political prisoner Zekirya Muratov. This was reported by his defenders Lilia Hemedzhi and Edem Semedliaiev to the Crimean Solidarity.
The defense provided evidence of the innocence of Zekirya Muratov, but the court ignored them.
“Based on this law, the Islamic Liberation Party was not recognized as terrorist, and the decision of 2003 is illegal and must be canceled”,- Lilia Hemedzhi said.
Muratov is a disabled person of the third group and suffers from high blood pressure.
“His health is not getting better because of his age and conditions. He suffers from high blood pressure and heart failure”,- the defenders added.
