Yalta economic forum cancelled in the occupied Crimea

October 16, 2024

The so-called Yalta International Economic Forum will again be held this year not in the temporarily occupied Crimea, but on the territory of Bashkortostan. The event is scheduled from 2 to 5 December 2024, the relevant decision was signed by the ‘head’ of the peninsula Sergey Aksyonov. This was reported by the media outlet ‘Voice of Crimea’.

This is the second year in a row when the forum is held outside of Crimea. Interestingly, for the second time in a row, the YIEF is called the sixth, probably due to a technical error in the official documents. Last year, the so-called sixth Yalta Economic Forum was held in Moscow, where they discussed Crimea’s cooperation with African countries.
