Will there be a new wave of mobilization in Crimea?

March 15, 2023

The head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, a member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Eskender Bariiev, said that there were prerequisites for the start of a new wave of mobilization or conscription into the Russian army in the occupied Crimea.

As it became known, in Aqmescit (Simferopol) in motor transport and railway colleges, 4-year students who should receive diplomas and graduate in July 2023 have already begun to issue summons to the military registration and enlistment offices. We emphasize that it is known from official Russian sources that this year’s spring conscription will begin on April 1 and will last until July 15.

“We also received information about the delivery of call-up papers in a number of settlements in Crimea. So, for example, in the Suvorovske of the Saky district of Crimea, in which 75 summonses were issued in seven settlements with a total population of 3,500 people”,- Bariiev said.

Recall that earlier the occupiers conducted door-to-door detours in the Karasuvbazar (Bilohirsk) district with a list of persons of Crimean Tatar nationality who evade conscription into the armed forces of the Russian Federation and are subject to search.
