On August 9, Ukraine and the entire world celebrate the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. There are about 476 million indigenous people living in 90 countries across the world. They are representatives of 5,000 different cultures.
But who are indigenous peoples? How many indigenous peoples are there in Ukraine, and what are their distinctive features? Answers to these questions can be found in the infographic developed by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
The #LIBERATECRIMEA campaign was presented by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center as part of its project implemented under the USAID/ENGAGE activity, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Pact. The contents of this campaign are the sole responsibility of Pact and its implementing partners and do not necessary reflect the views of USAID or the United States Government.
