Many people think of Crimea only as a resort, beach, sea and delicious paklava. This view narrows the understanding of this unique corner of our country. In fact, Crimea is much more than that: it is a rich history, culture, and a struggle of indigenous peoples for their rights.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Centre works systematically to bring truthful information about Crimea and the indigenous peoples of Ukraine to the general public. Our goal is to show that Crimea is not only a resort area, but also a home for many people who preserve their traditions and fight for justice.
Now we would like to share with you the thoughts of the participants of the Freedom Camp, which was organised by the CTRC with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine, who after the training became even more aware of the true meaning of Crimea for Ukraine and its people. They realised that to know about Crimea is not only to know about its beaches, but also to understand its pain, its struggle and its indestructible spirit.
