Narratives have recently been promoted in the information space that Ukraine needs to abandon Crimea. Moreover, such messages are distributed by high-ranking officials, including the presidents of some countries. For example
Recently, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva turned to Zelenskyy with a proposal to give the occupied Crimea to Russia in exchange for stopping the war against Ukraine;
At the same time, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said that Crimea would never return under the control of Ukraine, because the Russian Federation would use nuclear weapons if it started to lose the war;
Acting President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev declared that Russia actually owns the occupied Crimea;
Former President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman considers the loss of Crimea to Ukraine a finished business and proposes to settle it with payments to Ukraine.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center emphasizes that Crimea is Ukraine and the occupation of Crimea in 2014 took place in violation of all norms of international law. By making such statements, the current and ex-presidents of the aforementioned countries not only tolerate the crimes of the Russian Federation, but actually become accomplices of these crimes.
In addition, there are no legal and political reasons to violate international law and force Ukraine to give up any part of its territory to an occupier who illegally attempted to annex the Ukrainian peninsula.
We do not bargain over Crimea!
