May 4, 2024

On Saturday, April 4, Erol Veliiev, a citizen of Ukraine, who is an assistant of Mustafa Dzhemilev and one of the many Crimean Tatars placed by Russia on the “list of terrorists” to be arrested, was detained by Moldovan security services in Chisinau.

It is known that Erol Veliiev was returning home to Kyiv.

As the chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov noted in his Telegram channel, “the Mejlis is taking measures aimed at protecting the rights of Erol Veliiev, a citizen of Ukraine.”

Later, Erol Veliiev was released.

The reason for the detention is the announcement of the man by Russia in the “national wanted search” back in 2018.
