Ukrainian artifacts stolen by Russians were found in Crimea

December 1, 2023

Several works by Ukrainian artists, who were stolen by the occupiers from the Kherson Art Museum, were found in Crimea. The museum itself reports this on its Facebook page.

Several works were identified through footage from the story that propagandists filmed at the Central Museum of Taurida in August 2023.

Among the artifacts identified were:

The work of the Ukrainian graphic artist Ihor Stakhanov (1925-2008), To the Great Kobzar (1964). Paper, color linocut;

Anatolii Platonov (1927-2005), Chufut-Kale, Bakhchysarai (1986). Canvas, oil;

Kseniia Stetsenko (born 1959), Peonies, poppies, grapes (1998). Cardboard, vegetable oil;

Ivan Starenkov (1955-2010), Tertsiia (1996). Canvas, oil.

“Mysterious and illogical, these Russians did not save their idol Lenin, did not evacuate it, but for some reason they took our Shevchenko with them. But we are not distracted by this rhetorical question and continue to look for evidence of a Russian crime. More to come”,- the museum wrote.
