Ukraine condemned for collaboration activities the “deputy chairman of the Committee for Counteraction to Corruption” of Crimea

The occupation “deputy chairman of the Committee on counteraction to corruption of the Republic of Crimea” Maksym Tarasov was sentenced in absentia to 8 years for collaboration activities. This is reported by the Main Department of the SSU in Crimea.

According to the statements of the investigation it is known that before the occupation of the peninsula Tarasov served in various operational and investigative positions in the tax police of the ARC, and then moved to the side of Russia in the “Committee to combat corruption of the Republic of Crimea”, where he was promoted to “Deputy Chairman of the Committee”.

“His candidacy for this “chair” was personally coordinated by the local gauleiter Aksyonov. Being in this “position”, the figurant fulfills direct instructions of the occupation authorities and contributes to the realization of its criminal policy”, – stated in the message.

In addition to 8 years of imprisonment Tarasov for another 12 years is deprived of the right to hold positions related to public service and local self-government.
