According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, three brothers from the village of Chongar, Genichesk district of Kherson region – Arthur, Arsen and Ablyamed Memetshaev – were convicted by the occupation authorities for involvement in the battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan.
Artur Memetshaev received 6.5 years in prison and is already serving his sentence in Mordovia.
Arsen Memetshayev received 5 years of imprisonment and is serving his sentence in Lipetsk.
Ablyamed Memetshaev received 5 years in prison and is serving his sentence in Dimitrovgrad.
So, 3 searches, 3 criminal cases on criminal articles, 3 sentences? Isn’t it too much repression for one family?
The Crimean Tatar Resource Centre strongly protests and declares that this decision is illegal, politically motivated and criminal. This policy of the Russian Federation is a demonstration of the fight against the political beliefs of the citizens of the occupied Crimea.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Centre demands the cancellation of the sentence of the defendants in the case and the immediate release of other political prisoners.
