Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev calls on parents from the Kherson region, whose children are in the occupied Crimea, to urgently take their children, otherwise the occupation administration will deprive them of their parental rights.
“We received insider information that there are about 300 children from the Kherson region in Kezlev (Yevpatoriia), in two camps Luchystyy and Druzhba. Parents who are in the occupied Crimea visit their children,” he explained.
Bariiev noted that if within 6 months the parents do not make themselves known, do not contact the children, then the occupation administration will deprive them of parental rights. There are about 50 such children in these children’s camps. In a month, these children may be deprived of their parents if they do not appear.
“It is clear that the actions of the occupiers are illegal, but according to international humanitarian law, the evacuation of children for security purposes is allowed even to the occupied territories, but the occupiers do this in order to take Ukrainian children to the territory of Russia. We urge all parents whose children have been in these camps for about 5 months to urgently report this to the CTRC and all competent Ukrainian authorities”,- he stressed.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center, for its part, is ready to help ensure communication with children.
