The UN adopted a resolution on Russia’s violation of human rights in the occupied territories

December 20, 2023

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution that notes and condemns Russia’s violations of human rights in the occupied territories of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

“The updated UNGA resolution, in particular, requires Russia to stop forced deportations and ensure the safe return of all Ukrainian children and civilian hostages. These are some of the most terrible crimes, and they must be stopped”,- commented Dmytro Kuleba.

We remind you that on October 30, 2023, the UN called on the Russian Federation to stop the illegal conscription of Ukrainians into the army in occupied Crimea and to respect and protect the fundamental rights of all individuals and groups in the occupied parts of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Donetsk regions, as well as in Crimea, in particular the rights to freedom of thought and expression, peaceful assembly, association, conscience and religion.
