The occupiers passed a new sentence on the Hizb ut-Tahrir case defendant

June 16, 2023

On Friday, June 16, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict of Ansar Osmanov, a defendant in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case.

The occupiers sentenced him to 20 years in jail in a strict regime colony with the first 5 years in prison.

It should be noted that the accusations in this case are based on the testimony of hidden witnesses and the conclusion of so-called experts who actively cooperate with the Russian security forces. The case was considered in gross violation of international law.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center strongly protests and states that this decision is illegal, politically motivated and criminal. Such a policy of the Russian Federation is a demonstration of the struggle against the political convictions of the citizens of the occupied Crimea.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center demands the cancellation of the sentence to the defendant in the case and the immediate release of other political prisoners.
