On Wednesday, April 19, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a resident of the occupied Crimea, a defendant in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case, to 4 years in a strict regime colony, with the first 2 years in prison. This is reported by the Russian media.
It is noted that the convict allegedly became a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir in 2015.
“Being a member of the organization, the defendant conducted propaganda to recruit followers, and also prepared the ground for a violent seizure of power and a change in the constitutional order of the Russian Federation”,- the FSB claims.
It is known that the Russian security forces detained the man in August 2022. They claim that the convict admitted his guilt during the investigation and entered into a pre-trial agreement with the prosecutor. The criminal case was considered in a special order.
