The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don extended the terms of imprisonment in a pre-trial detention center for Crimean Tatars from the Dzhankoi district: Ekrem Krosh, Ayder Asanov, Refat Seydametov, Osman Abdurazakov and Leman Zekiryaev. Lawyer Lilia Hemedzhi reported this to Crimean Solidarity.
The period of detention was extended, despite Leman Zekiryaev’s medical documents stating that he needed urgent surgery. In addition, during the trial, a secret witness under the pseudonym Gafarov was interrogated, who, according to Hemedzhi, answered all questions with pre-prepared phrases and used in his speech terminology unusual for everyday communication.
“This made it clear that the person was not an ordinary person”,- the lawyer noted.
All Crimean Tatars will remain in isolation until May 3, 2024. Hemedzhi said that the defense will appeal the court’s decision.
We remind you that on January 24, 2023, Russian security forces, as a result of mass searches in the villages of the Bakhchysarai district, detained six representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people – Ekrem Krosh, Ayder Asanov, Refat Seydametov, Osman Abdurazakov, Leman Zekiryaev, Khalil Mambetov.
They were accused of participating in the organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned on the territory of the Russian Federation, and are charged with Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Organizing the activities of a terrorist organization and participating in it).
