The occupiers claim that since 2014 Ukraine has lost half of its population

Russian authorities noted that Ukraine has allegedly lost 53.7% of its population since 2014, labeling Ukrainians in the occupied territories as lost. This was announced by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Volodin.

“Demographic catastrophe in Ukraine. More than 10.5 million people fled Ukraine. Another 11.2 million residents of Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson regions made their choice to be with Russia”,- he said.
