On February 26, 2025, the occupation Supreme “court” of the Republic of Crimea confirmed the decision of the Kyiv district “court” of February 5 on the detention of five Crimean Tatars who became defendants in the case of the “fourth Dzhankoy group” of Hizb ut-Tahrir. All of them are accused of involvement in the activities of the political organization banned in rf. This is reported by “Crimean solidarity” public association.

The lawyer Edem Semedlyaev noted that the “court” did not take into account any of the arguments about the absence of a threat from his client Abibulla Semedlyaev.

“The court did not take into account that my client does not intend to hide or influence witnesses,” – said Edem Semedlyaev.

Lawyer Emil Kurbedinov also commented on the decision regarding Mirzali Tazhibaev, noting that the court did not accept the arguments about the lack of grounds for his detention.

“In fact, they are kept in the pre-trial detention center only because of their political positions. They do not admit their guilt and refuse to testify against themselves and others,” – Kurbedinov emphasized.

We would like to remind you that on February 5, 2025, searches were conducted in Crimea in the houses of five Crimean Tatars: a 29-year-old Emir Kurtnezirov (his father Remzi Kurtnezirov is now under house arrest), a 33-year-old Abibulla Smedlyaev, a 37-year-old Rustem Mustafaev, a 44-year-old Mirzaali Tazhibaev and Bakhtiyar Ablaev. They were then detained and sent to a pre-trial detention center. The arrested are accused of involvement in the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in Russia. Relatives of the detainees reported that during the searches they were planted with banned literature, and the search protocols were not provided.
