A Russian court fined the Muslim community Alushta 100 thousand rubles for storing books of Islamic theologians in a mosque. This was reported by the public association Crimean Solidarity with reference to Rustem Kiamilev.
According to him, the court made a decision under Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Dissemination of extremist materials). The corresponding protocol was drawn up on November 30, a week after the search in the mosque, when books were seized from it: the protocol included publications that were taken from the head of the community, Abdul Hafarov, on the same day. He claims that some of the books were not in the mosque at all, but were seized a week later – during a search in his house.
We are talking about several publications: the books “Islam, Faith, Worship” by Osman Nuri Topbash, “The Value of Zikr”, “Prophet Muhammad 2”, “History of the Caliphate” by Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, “History of the Caliphate” by Ali ibn Abu Talib.
“I view this fine as continued pressure on our religious community”,- commented Abdul Hafarov.
