The mother of political prisoner Lenur Khalilov has died at the age of 88

The mother of political prisoner Lenur Khalilov, Resude Khalilova, died at the age of 88 in the occupied Crimea. This is reported by the “Crimean solidarity”.

The funeral was held on April 26 at 13:30, immediately after Friday prayers. The Crimean Tatar woman was buried in the village of Geroyskoye of Yevpatoria district (forme Saky region).

It is known that the woman was born in the village of Ai-Serez in Sudak in 1936 and was deported from Crimea in 1944.

We would like to remind you that on June 10, Russian security forces conducted mass searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars in Alushta, Belogorsk and Simferopol. As a result, 8 people were detained on suspicion of involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in Russia. On June 10 and 11, the Kyiv district “court” of Akmesdzhit (Simferopol) elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention until August 5 for the Crimean Tatars detained after the searches – Riza Omerov, Enver Omerov, Aider Dzhepparov, Eskender Suleymanov, Ruslan Nagaev, Eldar Kantimirov, Ruslan Mensutov and Lenur Khalilov. Later, the occupants repeatedly extended the measure of restraint for the political prisoners. On January 12, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict to the defendants of the Belogorsk “Hizb ut-Tahrir case. Enver Omerov was sentenced to 18 years, Aider Dzhepparov to 17 years, Riza Omerov to 13 years in prison.
