The Irish human rights organization Front Line Defenders once again called on the authorities of the Russian Federation to stop the persecution of human rights activist Abdureshyt Dzhepparov.
Front Line Defenders has been helping to defend human rights through non-violent methods since 2001.
“The organization believes that this persecution is a reprisal for his peaceful and legitimate human rights activities, in particular for protecting the indigenous people of the Crimean Tatars and drawing attention to human rights violations in Russian-occupied Crimea”,- the organization said.
On July 11, the organization published an article that told the story of human rights activist Dzhepparov.
“Front Line Defenders believes that the expansion of the Administrative and Criminal Codes of the Russian Federation with a number of articles against discrediting and fake against the Russian military contributes to censorship and is disproportionately used to persecute human rights defenders and journalists in Russia and in the Russian-occupied territory of Ukraine”,- the article said.
We remind you that on April 25, in Karasuvbazar (Bilohirsk), FSB officers conducted an illegal search at the home of activist Abdureshyt Dzhepparov. He was accused of violating article 19.3 (disobeying the police) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. And appointed 12 days of administrative arrest.
Later, the invaders opened two new administrative cases on discrediting the Russian army and abuse of freedom of information.
