The flag of the Crimean Tatar battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan was raised in Kyiv on Ukrainian Volunteer Day.
Now it flies alongside the banners of other volunteer battalions defending Ukraine.
During the ceremony, Vidadi Israfilov, chairman of the Azerbaijan-Ukrainian organisation, presented awards to the battalion’s fighters and expressed hope: ” I hope that we will meet the next holiday in free Crimea, in Bakhchisaray”.
A representative of the battalion said that the awards will become part of a future museum in a free Crimea and will symbolise the unity of all people in Ukraine. Crimean Tatars together with other defenders are doing their best to raise the victory flag on their native land next time.
