The flag matters!

September 24, 2023

Today the occupiers celebrate the so-called Day of the State Emblem and State Flag of the Republic of Crimea.

“Our symbols reflect the centuries-old history, traditions and culture of the multinational Crimea, embody the will and patriotism of the Crimeans”,- said the head of occupied Crimea Sergei Aksenov.

Do you know what the flag and coat of arms of Crimea look like?

The flag is a panel consisting of three horizontally located colored stripes: blue, white and red.

The coat of arms of Crimea depicts a white griffin against the background of a red shield and the rising sun. The slogan on the ribbon reads: Prosperity in Unity.

Yes, you understood correctly, the colors in these symbols are reminiscent of Russia. This is not at all accidental.

Moreover, these symbols of the illegal Republic of Crimea are still de jure official in Ukraine.

Time to change this and get rid of everything Russian!

The flag matters!

Throughout the history of mankind, the best have given their lives for the right to raise their flag. Today, more than ever before, we realize the cost of allowing the flag to fly freely over the entire country.

In 2014, the Crimean Tatar flag became a symbol of indestructibility and the fight for rights and freedom for many people in the world. And after February 24, 2022, the flag of the Crimean Tatars, together with the flag of Ukraine, flutters even more powerfully in the hottest spots of hostilities. Today, the two flags are united by a single desire – freedom.

The flag of the Crimean Tatar people has the right to be official in Crimea, and the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag, which is celebrated annually on June 26, to be recognized at the official level.

The official status of the Crimean Tatar Flag Day is a sign of solidarity with the indigenous people who continue to fight for the freedom of Crimea to return to their homeland.

This is an important step for the authorities to show that we are building a fair and diverse society.

This is a way to show all Ukrainians and foreigners that we are one people and respect each other’s symbols.
