Unfortunately, the de facto Kremlin-controlled Crimean authorities create only the appearance of investigating these cases, despite the fact that, in accordance with UN General Assembly Resolution A/RES/71/205, Russia is named an occupying state and is entrusted with responsibility for the observance of human rights in this area/territories.

CTRC employees and experts have repeatedly informed the international community about these flagrant facts of human rights violations at the international platforms of the UN, OSCE, and PACE. We condemn the arrests, detentions and kidnappings that are used in Crimea as a way of pressure and intimidation of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people and pro-Ukrainian activists.
