Belgium hosted the event “Two Flags – One Country” dedicated to the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag – a symbol of unity, struggle for freedom and the right to self-determination.

The event was organized on the initiative of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium, together with Ukrainian Voices RC, the Crimean Tatar community in Belgium and the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre.

“The blue flag with a golden tamga is a symbol of the struggle for the right to live in one’s native land, a symbol of the struggle for freedom and the right to self-determination. This flag is in the trenches and on the front line next to the defenders of the Ukrainian state, it is a testament to the strength and courage of the entire Crimean Tatar people”, – noted in her speech Charge d’Affaires of Ukraine in Belgium Natalia Anoshina.

All guests of the event had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the visual products prepared by the CTRC for this day, to see a folk dance performed by Ulvie Seitosmanova and to listen to musical compositions from Crimean Tatar folklore by Jemil Karikov.
