As part of the events dedicated to the Day of the Crimean Tatar flag, the Crimean Tatar flag was solemnly raised near a number of state administrative institutions and universities.

At 10:00, with the participation of Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko, Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev and other invited guests, the Crimean Tatar flag was solemnly raised near the building of the Kyiv City State Administration.

“Today, June 26, we celebrate an important national holiday of the Crimean Tatars – the Day of the Crimean Tatar flag. A symbol of the struggle for the rights of the indigenous people of Crimea, a symbol of inflexibility and unity, the continuity of generations of Crimean Tatars in the fight against Russian occupation. Fight for freedom and the right to self-determination”,- Vitalii Klychko said.

The Crimean Tatar flag was also raised at the red building of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

“The Crimean Tatar flag unites the history, present and future of the people. We remember that Crimea is Ukraine and the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war should be the de-occupation of the peninsula and the restoration of the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state”,- said Volodymyr Buhrov, rector of the university.

The Crimean Tatar flag also flew near the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights.

“I believe that the flag of the Crimean Tatars, together with the state flag of Ukraine, will definitely fly over Simferopol and Yalta, over Sudak and Yevpatoriia. Over the free Ukrainian Crimea! Two flags – one country! Crimea is Ukraine!”,- Dmytro Lubinets emphasized.

The Crimean Tatar flag was raised in front of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry building.

The annual ceremony was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Mykola Tochytskyy, head of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, permanent representative of the President in Crimea Tamila Tasheva, head of the board of the Crimean Human Rights Group Olha Skrypnyk and leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev.

“Today’s ceremony is a signal to those who do not stop fighting in Crimea. We stand next to the Crimean Tatar people”,- Tochytskyy said.
