The meeting was held on the initiative of the head of the national-cultural Karaite society “Jamaat” Elena Arabadzhi.
According to Pavel Myalo, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of the Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration, it is not the first time that Russia has made many Crimean Tatars exiles.
“By persecution and torture, the enemy seeks to suppress the resistance of Crimeans. But we believe that Ukraine’s sovereignty over the Crimean peninsula will be restored. The State Flag of Ukraine and the Crimean Tatar national flag will definitely fly in Crimea, and Crimean Tatars will be able to live freely in their homeland,”- the official said.
Eskender Bariiev, Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, joined the event with a welcoming speech. In his statement, he thanked the organizers and congratulated all the participants on the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag.
