Yesterday, May 16, in the Southern District Military Court Oleksandr Syzykov was deprived of the right to read the last word. This was reported by his lawyer Safiie Shabanova to the Crimean Solidarity.
The court session began with a delay, since Oleksandr Syzykov was at an emergency appointment with the dentist because of the flux. The judge commented on this with the phrase: “plan your flux after courtsessions”. During the debate, he stopped Syzykov several times, stating that he doesn’t speak on the topic.
After the debate, the court announced that it gives three defendants the right to the last word. Seyran Khairetdynov and Alim Sufianov delivered the final speeches.
Sufianov said that he had nothing to do with terrorism and demanded that all charges to be withdrawn from him.
“The only place where I appear is a video of my work, where I was cutting FSB officer who was conducting video surveillance, which I did not even know about. But there is nothing illegal on my part in the video”,- Alim Sufianov said in the court.
Seyran Khairetdynov recalled the events of 1944.
“The events of today are a continuation of that terrible story, only in the place of our grandparents were their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the label of traitors was changed to a new, modern label of terrorists”,- he said.
Syzykov prepared his text in Braille because he has a visual disability of the first group. He left that text at home, because he did not expect todeliver his speech today.
“Sasha’s speeches were interrupted, which made the court very nervous. They interrupted him, did not let him finish his thought. Sasha, of course, tried to say something, but it was very difficult for him to speak, and as a result, the court deprived him of the right to the last word”,- Safiie Shabanova explained.
We remind you that on July 7, Russian security forces conducted mass searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars in the Bakhchysarai, Krasnohvardiiske and Simferopol districts of the occupied Crimea. Seven people have been detained. All were taken to the FSB headquarters in Simferopol. On July 7, the so-called Kyiv district court of Simferopol sent Oleksandr Syzykov, a disabled person of the first group, under house arrest. On July 8, the so-called Kyiv district court of the occupied Crimea chose a measure of restraint for Ismet Ibrahimov, Zekirya Muratov, Vadym Bektemyrov, Emil Ziyadynov, Alim Sufianov and Seyran Khairetdynov in the form of detention.
