The Crimean Tatar political prisoner in a Russian prison, Farhod Bazarov, refused to fight against Ukraine despite offers from the occupants.

This was reported by QIRIM.News with reference to Bazarov’s wife, Fatimе Yanikova.

She noted that although those convicted of the so-called terrorist articles are not called to the “military service”, her husband was offered to do so.

“Crimean Tatar political prisoner Farhod Bazarov, who is being held in a prison in Balashov, Saratov region of Russia, refused to participate in Russia’s invasive war against Ukraine,” the statement said.

To recap, on 27 March 2019, searches were conducted in the homes of Crimean Tatars in the occupied Crimea, and Farhod Bazarov was among those whose homes were searched. In addition to him, 24 other Crimean Tatars were detained.

A Russian court found him guilty of organising the activities of a terrorist organisation and sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
