The occupation authorities have said that international observers will work at the “elections” in Crimea.
“Four international observers from Maldives, Paraguay, Iran and Lebanon have arrived in Crimea. They will visit the polling stations,” said Vladimir Uzunov, a member of the Public Chamber of the Republic.
Thus, Russia creates an illusion of legitimacy in its “elections” by inviting observers only from friendly countries (the list does not include a single observer from a European country).
Among other things, according to Uzunov, the “observers” will familiarize themselves with the local infrastructure, meet with community members and Crimeans to find out what the atmosphere is like on the peninsula and what “conditions” have been created for voters.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center urges not to participate in this gathering and reminds that the so-called “elections” in the occupied territories are not considered legitimate.
