The discoveries date back to the years of World War II, but there are also relics from the century before last. During the two weeks of the expedition, the occupiers illegally seized hundreds of small artefacts: shell casings, elements of ammunition, household items.
‘Expedition’ of Russian scientists will last until the end of July.
We would like to remind, archaeological excavations conducted by Russian scientists in the occupied territories are illegal, as no permission documents for exploration and excavation are obtained from the competent authorities of Ukraine.
During the 8 years of occupation, the Russian administration promotes illegal archaeological excavations and prospecting on the territory of the peninsula, which leads to the destruction of Ukrainian cultural heritage sites.
