Russian President Vladimir Putin replaced the head of the Russian prosecutor’s office of Akyar (Sevastopol) with Andrey Shevtsov. This was reported on the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.
The previous head, Maxim Zhuk, was appointed prosecutor of the Tver region of the Russian Federation.
Prior to this, Shevtsov held the position of Amur Basin Environmental Prosecutor since February 2022.
Previously, Shevtsov’s candidacy for this position was approved by the Federation Council. According to the law, the president appoints prosecutors after consultation with the upper house of parliament.
