Representatives of the international movement for the deoccupation of
Crimea #LiberatecCrimea told Krym.Realii that the Russian authorities
do not trust the Crimean Tatars.
“According to our sources, the offices of Russian officials are very distrustful of their Crimean Tatar colleagues. Everyone knows that the Crimean Tatar people remain overwhelmingly pro-Ukrainian. Despite the alleged interest of the Russian authorities in the participation of Crimean Tatars in the government, this is not the case,”- the activists
said.
According to them, the split between the Crimean Tatar society in
Crimea and the pro-Russian one is very large. Many pro-Russian
activists believe that Aksyonov has given too many portfolios to
Crimean Tatars. Currently, the declared “inter-ethnic harmony” in
Crimea is based solely on the brutal suppression of the slightest
signs of disagreement with the Kremlin’s policies.
