The Russian Federation interrupted the process of exchanging prisoners of war. This was reported by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
“I publicly confirm the information that it was the Russian Federation that blocked the processes of exchange of prisoners of war. The last exchange took place on September 7 of this year”,- he said.
He also said that the relatives of prisoners of war began to receive calls from the Russian Federation to convince them that Ukraine refuses to take its citizens from captivity.
“We began to record massive telephone calls from the territory of the Russian Federation to the relatives of prisoners of war, and they do this from Russian numbers, they even introduce themselves, saying that we are from the Russian Federation, we are ready to return your loved one, it is Ukraine’s fault that it does not take its heroes.” , said the official.
Now in Russia, relatives are being encouraged to go to protests.
“In our opinion, such a systematic work is taking shape to try to involve the relatives of prisoners of war in processes that could destabilize the situation in Ukraine. Such protests can, in the opinion of the Russian Federation, develop into some kind of socio-political trends…”,– Lubinets explained.
