Representatives of the Cultural Center took part in the forum “Ukrainian Cultural Heritage”

On September 21-22, the Forum Ukrainian Cultural Heritage: #ActForHeritage was held in Kyiv, which was attended by about 150 people from different parts of Ukraine and foreign experts.

The forum was also joined by Liudmyla Korotkykh, manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center and Oleksandr Stoietskyy, communications manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.

The organizers of this event sought to create a platform for dialogue and monitoring in the field of conservation and protection of the cultural heritage of Ukraine with the participation of civil society, government, cultural community and international donor organizations.

During the panel discussions, participants discussed the following topics:

— The war for heritage is a war for identity. Conceptual and conceptual dimension of the issue of cultural heritage;

— International and Ukrainian experience in matters of protecting cultural heritage during war;

— Cultural heritage as a witness. Discussion about the process of documenting crimes committed by Russia against Ukraine. Issues of digitalization and advocacy;

— Discussions are devoted to the creation of effective methods and strategies for preserving Ukrainian cultural heritage between stakeholders from civil society, the cultural community and government representatives;

— Joint action for the sake of heritage. Presentations of international donor and government programs in the field of cultural heritage protection.

In addition, a pitching of ideas for projects to protect the cultural heritage of Ukraine took place, which resulted in support for one of the projects.

The result of the Forum will be the creation of recommendations for improving and adapting the Ukrainian regulatory framework in this matter, as well as the development of further possible steps to synchronize the efforts of civil society, government and international donors in the process of preserving the cultural heritage of Ukraine.
