Two weeks ago, political prisoner Remzi Bekirov was transferred to a prison in Krasnoyarsk. This was announced by his wife Khalida Bekirova on her Facebook page.
“It was to this city that my grandmother was deported in a cattle car in 1944. And now my husband was deported there in the Stolypin train”,- writes Khalid.
In her address, she quoted from a letter sent to her by Remzi Bekirov.
“On May 28, together with my fellow countrymen, I left the pre-trial detention center in Novocherkassk in the direction of Voronezh. Shaban Umerov and Vadym Bektemyrov helped me a lot on the road… What happened on the road was similar to what I saw in the movies: an armed convoy threateningly voicing commands, barking dogs, a chain to which the prisoners were handcuffed, that is, we, a stuffy Stolypin train without windows and with bars on the doors, a powerless position of the prisoners”,- he said.
In the letter, Bekirov writes that during the trip it was very stuffy, because the train was packed to capacity. The path was very long.
“We spent no more than a day in each prison. You do not have time to settle down in the cell, as you are again ordered to leave. Lack of sleep, malnutrition, stress – all this accompanied our transferring. Pre-trial detention center – paddy train – pre-trial detention center (standing, searches, checks) – we have been living in this mode for 15 days already”,- he added.
In conclusion, the political prisoner noted that he feels support from both the outside world and other political prisoners.
We remind you that on March 27, 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea conducted mass searches in 26 houses of Crimean Tatars. According to the results, 20 people were detained, who are suspected of involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization banned in the Russian Federation.
Subsequently, political prisoners have repeatedly extended their arrests, and some have already been sentenced.
