A bill on confiscation of property for fakes about the Russian army was introduced to the State Duma. This was reported by the Russian media TASS.
The document expands the list of crimes for which confiscation of property is possible under Art. 104.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Provides for the confiscation of money, valuables and other property used or intended for the financing of terrorism).
Such crimes are proposed to include violations under Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) and 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public calls for activities aimed against security and protection of human rights).
“Part 2 of Article 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is proposed to be supplemented with clauses on the commission of a crime for mercenary reasons or for hire and on the grounds of political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred or enmity, or on grounds of hatred or enmity against any social group”,– reports TASS.
In addition, it is proposed to confiscate awards and deprive, by court decision, of titles and awards for violation of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation), Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public calls for extremist activities), Art. 280.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public calls for actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation) and Art. 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public actions aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation).
At the same time, it is not proposed to change the punishment provided for in this part. The bill also expands in this article the list of articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which are indicated in the note as crimes directed against the security of the Russian Federation. These include Article 281.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Promotion of sabotage activities), 281.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Completing training for the purpose of carrying out sabotage activities) and Article 281.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Organization of a sabotage community and participation in it).
