The Russian Federal Penitentiary Service denies claims that Tymur Yalkabov was shaved by force. Aliie Yalkabova reported this to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
“The fact of illegal use of physical force against the convict Yalkabov based on the results of the inspection, it was not established”,- according to the document sent to her by the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
We remind you that on February 17, 2021, Russian security forces conducted seven searches in the houses of Crimean Tatars in Bilohirsk, Bakhchysarai, Simferopol, Sevastopol and the Sovietske district of occupied Crimea. The detainees are charged with Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The Kyiv district court and the Lenin district court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the detained Crimean Tatars – Ernest Ibrahimov, Tymur Yalkabov, Azamat Eiupov, Oleh Fedorov, Lenura Seidametov and Yashar Shykhametov.
On March 22, 2022, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict to Tymur Yalkabov. He was sentenced to 17 years in prison, with the first 4 years to be served in prison.
In November 2023, FSIN employees forcibly shaved the Crimean Tatar, political prisoner Timur Yalkabov.
