Political prisoners Aidyn Mamutov and Edem Kadyrov released

Political prisoners Aidyn Mamutov and Edem Kadyrov, who were sentenced to 4 years in prison for participating in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion, were released.

We remind you that Aidyn Mamutov was detained on April 22, 2019, and Edem Kadyrov was detained on January 23, 2019. Both were charged with Part 2 of Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Participation in an armed formation not provided for by federal law, as well as participation on the territory of a foreign state in an armed formation not provided for by the legislation of this state, for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation).

Since 2014, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has recorded 28 detentions on charges of participation in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion: 12 in the occupied Crimea, 16 in the occupied Kherson region after February 24, 2022.
