Political prisoner Server Mustafayev has been kept in the barracks of strict detention conditions (SDC) in the CC-1 in Tambov region since February 2024, due to which he began to lose his eyesight. This is reported by ‘Crimean Solidarity’.
According to his wife Maye Mustafayeva, the problems with eyesight of Server Mustafayev began back in the pre-trial detention centre in Novocherkassk. Then an ophthalmologist prescribed him glasses, in which the political prisoner writes and reads.
‘If before he could at least see small print, now everything is blurred. Server’s eyes get tired quickly,’ – Maye told.
Because of his detention in Strict conditions of confinement, the activist cannot continue his studies at the law faculty, where he entered at the beginning of last year. He has never been able to start studying on a part-time basis. The wife of the Crimean Tatar sent a complaint to the Federal Penitentiary Service. It was promisedthere to ‘sort it out’, but the case has not moved so far.
We would like to remind that on 11 October 2017 in the city of Bakhchisaray, the occupiers conducted mass searches in 6 houses of Crimean Tatars – Marlen Asanov, Seiran Saliiev, Timur Ibragimov, Memet Belyalov, Ernes Ametov, Server Zekiryaev. All of them were detained. They are all charged under Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ‘Participation in the activities of an organisation, which in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation is recognized as a terrorist’.
On 16 September, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict to the defendants of the second Bakhchisaray ‘Hizb ut-Tahrir case’. Marlen Asanov was sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony, Memet Belyalov – to 18, Timur Ibragimov – to 17, Seyran Saliiev – to 16, Server Mustafayev – to 14, Server Zekiryaev and Edem Smailov – to 13. Ernes Ametov was found not guilty and released in the courtroom but later was detained and arrested again.
