Political prisoner Bohdan Ziza is in Perm

November 15, 2023

Crimean activist and political prisoner Bohdan Ziza is in correctional colony 29 in the city of Perm. A friend of the political prisoner informed the public initiative Solidarity Zone about this.

On September 27, the Russian court rejected the appeal and the sentence came into force, after which Ziza was transferred from the Novocherkassk pre-trial detention center. All this time, his family did not know his whereabouts.

In the letter, the activist wrote that during the transferring he was in Volgograd, Saratov, Kazan and Izhevsk. He must be sent to prison to serve the first 4 years of his sentence.

“We assume that, most likely, he will be detained in Minusinsk or Yeniseisk. But it is also possible that he will be transferred to the Verkhneuralsk prison,” the message says.

We remind you that on June 6, 2023, the Southern District Court of Rostov-on-Don convicted Bohdan Ziza, detained in May 2022 in Yevpatoriia, on fictitious charges of terrorism and public calls for terrorist activities using the media and the Internet. He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony, the first 4 of which he will spend in prison.
