On Monday, April 17, Kremlin political prisoner Arsen Dzhepparov, previously sentenced to 7 years in prison with a 1-year restriction of freedom, was released.
“The day has come – I am free. Now we are near colony IK-16. I was very glad to see the brothers when I went out the door. Do not convey now the emotions of 7 years. This feeling is very exciting, very worried. Now we will wait for others in freedom”,- Arsen Dzhepparov commented”,- the Crimean Solidarity reports.
We remind you that Arsen Dzhepparov was detained on April 18, 2016. He was accused of participating in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization. He was charged with Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in it) and Art. 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power). On November 12, 2019, the Southern District Military Court convicted the man of imprisonment for 7 years, with restriction of freedom for 1 year.
