During the Third Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform, which
took place on October 24 in Riga, Speaker of the Saeima of Latvia
Daiga Mierinā said that Ukraine is fighting not only for its territories, but also for the protection of the system of international relations based on the rule of law and peaceful cooperation. According to her, Ukraine is not alone in this struggle.

There is a world order where someone can achieve their goals through brute force and aggression, regardless of whether we live in Europe, Africa, Asia or the Americas. And that is why I am particularly inspired by the representative presence of countries at this summit, which shows that Ukraine is not alone in its struggle for international law and justice,” – Mierinia emphasized.

She also noted that the Crimea Platform is the result of collective
efforts aimed at drawing attention to Russian aggression.

“Russia is trying to redraw borders through repression and crimes in Crimea and war in other occupied territories. And we are working to restore peace and justice in the region,” – the speaker added.

Mierinia emphasized that just as the world did not recognize the
occupation of the Baltic States in its time, today the international
community must constantly repeat that “Crimea is Ukraine” and that
Russia’s attempts to change the borders are illegal, and that those
responsible for the crimes committed will not escape punishment.

“Our task is to say unequivocally that the international community will not turn a blind eye to “Russian imperialism”,” – Mierinia said.
