United Nations Day is celebrated every year on October 24, the day the
UN Charter came into force in 1945. This day is intended to remind the
world of the importance of international cooperation in maintaining
peace, security and human rights. The UN is central to addressing
global issues such as poverty alleviation, climate change,
peacekeeping operations, and human rights.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center (CTRC), in turn, systematically
cooperates with the UN. We actively inform the international community
about human rights violations in the occupied Crimea, about political
prisoners illegally detained by the Russian authorities, as well as
about the consequences of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.
The CTRC provides evidence and facts of violations of the rights of
Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians, actively participates in international
discussions and promotes attention to these issues at the global level
through cooperation with various UN entities. A separate focus of
cooperation with the UN for the CTRC is the promotion and protection
of the rights of indigenous peoples, not only in Ukraine but also
globally.
More information about the CTRC’s activities can be found on the
organization’s official platforms, as well as in reports presented at
various international forums under the auspices of the UN.
