Occupiers in Crimea detain man who allegedly wanted to blow up railway bridge

On Thursday, 12 September, Russian security forces detained a 51-year-old man in the occupied Akyar (Sevastopol) who allegedly wanted to blow up a railway bridge. This is reported by the Russian FSB of the peninsula.

‘He was recruited through correspondence in messenger to perform intelligence tasks to collect information about the facilities of the Russian Armed Forces stationed in the city, as well as objects of transport infrastructure in order to commit terrorist acts,’ – the occupiers claim.

The man allegedly on the instructions of his handler ‘withdrew explosives and explosive devices from a cache, with the help of which he was to carry out a terrorist act – blowing up a railway bridge on the territory of Sevastopol.’

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against him under several articles. The man faces life imprisonment.
