Russian occupiers are going to rename streets in Crimea that are named after Ukrainian and American politicians. This was stated by the senator from Crimea Sergei Tsekov.
“We discovered interesting things, we have settlements in Crimea in which there are streets named after Kravchuk, Kuchma, and even Reagan Street. The names were assigned during the time of Ukraine, I think that these are not the personalities whose names should be given to the streets of Crimean cities”,- he said.
Such effective work of the occupiers in this area can be explained by their reaction to how Ukraine is working to decolonize and decommunize Crimea by restoring historical geographical names on the peninsula.
We remind you that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center is also actively working in this direction and has been continuing the information campaign Let’s return names – return Crimea for more than a year, within the framework of which we tell Ukrainians more about the historical toponyms of Crimea using various methods.
