In the occupied Crimea, there is a shortage of highly specialized doctors. The director of the Heorhiievskyy Medical Academy of the Vernadskyy KFU Evgeny Krutikov told about it.

“We have categories of doctors in Crimea who are in short supply – endocrinologists, hematologists, phthisiatricians, emergency doctors. We are now trying to open new types of residency training in order to train these specialists. We are currently licensing endocrinology and neurosurgery, and in the future we plan to launch hematology as well”,- he noted.

He added that licensing of pediatric cardiology and endocrinology residency programs is also next in line.

“As for the specialization, we have a fairly large number of budget places, 330 for general medicine and we are recruiting 100 people for pediatrics. Regarding the different types of residencies, this is regulated depending on the application. We are adjusting it together with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea to allocate a sufficient number of budget places”,- he explained.
