Occupants want to put political prisoner Amet Suleymanov in jail

Political prisoner and civilian journalist Amet Suleymanov, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the occupiers in 2021, is being imprisoned.

According to the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Amet Suleymanov is on the waiting list for heart valve transplantation. He suffers from arterial and mitral insufficiency. In addition, even under the occupational legislation, this disease is included in the list of impediments to detention.

Previously, the political prisoner was kept under house arrest for three years due to heart disease.

We remind you that on March 11, Russian security forces came with searches to the houses of Crimean Tatars in Bakhchysarai and the Bakhchysarai district. Searches were carried out in the house of Seytumer Seytumerov, Shukri Seytumerov, Amet Suleymanov, Seidamet Mustafaiev, Rustem Seitmemetov, Ayder Suleymanov. A number of activists were detained. On October 29, 2021, Amet Suleymanov was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime colony with the first 3 years and 6 months in prison.
