The occupation court in Akyar (Sevastopol) sentenced a 52-year-old local resident, Volodymyr Makarov, accusing him of “treason” in favor of Ukraine. This was reported by the occupation prosecutor’s office of the city of Akyar (Sevastopol).

According to the Russian investigation, Makarov was allegedly recruited by an SBU employee from December 2023 to April 2024 and “transmitted” information about the location of Russian military facilities via messenger.

The man was illegally sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime colony with a further restriction of liberty for one year.

“On the instructions of a representative of the Ukrainian special services, he took a mobile phone with the necessary software from a hiding place prepared for him. From April to June 2024, he used this device to collect and transmit photographs and information about the location of weapons and military facilities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to the recruiter,” – the statement said.
