On October 22, it became known that a man was detained on charges of
“espionage”. This was reported by Russian media.
It is known that the arrested man allegedly established contact with
the Security Service of Ukraine through WhatsApp, Telegram, and Signal
messengers.
According to the FSB, he received a task from an SBU officer to get
several SIM cards of Crimean mobile operators from a cache in
Simferopol and hide some of them. For this, the man allegedly received
a monetary reward on his bank card.
The detainee is accused of cooperation with a foreign state under
Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment
for a term of 3 to 8 years. He is currently in custody.
